This report is a product of a research endeavor to analyze the effects targeted energy services in Brazil, the Philippines and Mali have on the countries’ attainment of MDG goals. With this report, UNDP aims to draw attention to the relationship between energy service availability and the economic and social dimensions of the MDG framework. The study quantifies the impact energy services have on the achievement of the MDGs by analyzing the developmental impacts of energy-related interventions in Brazil, Mali and the Philippines. The study's findings point to several key conclusions aimed at achieving the MDGs, which are directly relevant to national strategies.
