A compilation of case studies shared by UNDP Country Office focal points in the region, the aim of this publication is to offer key lessons for replication and strategic fine-tuning for the development and formulation of energy programmes and projects. The lessons drawn from these case studies cover participatory approaches, technology choices and policy options, and provide valuable insights into the role of energy in povery reduction and advancing the achievement of the MDGs. This publication is the first of its kind and a good example of UNDP's engagement to codify, synthesize and document lessons and challenges faced during the implementation of UNDP supported energy projects in the Asia and Pacific region.
